Dr.
Ali has a doctorate in physics from the University of
Leeds, U.K., and is physicist with a well-earned reputation
in solid state physics and electronics. Having an experience
of over thirty-three years with R&D establishments,
both in India and abroad, Dr. Ali retired as a Deputy
Director of the National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi.
She was also a Scientist Emeritus of the Government
of India for a number of years and specializes in project
identification and technology evaluation.
Graduating with a Masters' degree in Economics, Mr.
Bhatia has spent over thirty-five years with financial
institutions. He retired as a Deputy General Manager
of the Punjab National Bank. His field of specialization
includes finance and project funding.
Graduating with a Master's degree in commerce, Mr. Bhatia
worked with M/s Avery India Ltd., DCM Ltd., and ICI
Ltd., both in the production and marketing departments.
Subsequently, he went abroad and obtained a Masters
degree in Business Administration from Indiana University.
He then worked as a Senior Consultant for M/s Price
Waterhouse (USA), where he was responsible for monitoring
and evaluating the projects of large corporations like
M/s General Electric. Subsequently, as Vice President
(Projects) for M/s Fidelity Corporation (USA), he evaluated
and help finance major projects of companies like M/s
Motorola, etc. He has nearly twenty-five year's experience
in working with both Indian and US corporations.
With
a doctorate in organic chemistry, Dr. Gopinath has worked
in a number of R&D institutions, both in India and
abroad. After retiring as Deputy Director, Regional Research
Laboratory, Jorhat (Assam), he joined M/s Ranbaxy Laboratories
Ltd. as its General Manager. He was later the Chairman
of M/s Warson Chemicals Pvt. Ltd. and is an expert on
drugs and pharmaceutical.
Dr.
Iyengar has a Masters' degree in organic chemistry and
a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Leeds, U.K. He has
been a Director on Special Duty with the Ministry of Defense
and, later, was the Director of Regional Research Laboratory,
Jorhat (Assam). After seeking premature retirement from
the Government in 1974, he formed M.S. Iyengar & Associates
Pvt. Ltd. and is currently its Managing Director. In a
career spanning over 45 years, Dr. Iyengar has had extensive
interaction with Indian and foreign industry. He has also
been a consultant to UNIDO, is a member of the Club of
Rome, and is the holder of nearly a hundred patents. His
field of specialization includes project identification,
evaluation and design, technology assessment and project
implementation.
Mr.
Iyengar holds a Masters' degree in commerce, and one in
Business Administration. He is also the Executive Director
of M.S. Iyengar & Associates Pvt. Ltd. and has nearly
twenty five year's experience in Indian industry. He was
in charge of operations in M/s IYCON Chemical's plant
for over seven years and has marketed various industrial
chemicals. He was also closely associated with the project
of M/s Network Telecommunication Systems, New Delhi, and
was in charge of their operations in Andhra Pradesh, Haryana,
J&K, and Karnataka. As Director MSIA, Mr. Iyengar
has directed several market surveys, project feasibility,
monitoring, and evaluation studies. He is also has wide
expertise in computer systems and in software development
on Java, HTML, COBOL an SQL Server platforms. He has designed/developed
many of MSIA's in-house computer programs.
Mr.
Murthy holds a degree in chemical engineering and has
worked with the Council of Scientific & Industrial
Research's R&D laboratories. He has also been a Senior
Executive with M/s Humfrey & Glasgow (India) Ltd.
and specializes in project planning and implementation.
Mr. Nair is a chemical
engineer who has worked in R&D and in top-level management positions with
industry leaders like M/s Vam Organic Chemicals Ltd., Haryana Coated Papers
Ltd., and Asian Paints (I) Ltd. He has been instrumental in developing several
projects, e.g. Pyridine Hydrobromide; 3, 5-Lutidine; 2-vinyl Pyridine; etc. His
experience with Indian industry has spanned over thirty years.
Mr.
Raghavan holds a degree in civil engineering and, after
working as Chief Engineer in Iraq for a number of years,
joined the Government of India's Ministry of Shipping
and Transport. He specializes in structural engineering
and has over twenty-five years experience in the field.
Having
a doctorate in chemical engineering, Dr. Srinivasan has
worked in a number of R&D organizations. He was also
a Senior Executive in M/s Polyolefins Ltd., Mumbai, and
has over thirty years experience with Indian industry.
He specializes in technology evaluation and corporate
planning.
Mr. Vasishth holds a Master of Science degree in Architecture Studies from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MA (USA). A trained architect, who received his Bachelor in Architecture degree from India's School of Planning and Architecture in New Delhi, India, Mr. Vasishth has an expertise in sustainable development planning based on the deployment of appropriate technology strategies. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Urban Studies and Planning, at the California State University, Northridge, where he teaching international development and environmental planning. He is also currently completing his doctorate in environmental, land use and sustainability planning in the context of urban habitat conservation. He specializes in ecosystem-based regional environmental planning, and has taught the subject in USA's University of Southern California and California State University. He is also an expert in the practice of habitat conservation and the application of ecosystem ecology principles to sustainability planning. He has carried out several environmental impact analyses using participatory research techniques, and has implemented multiple stakeholder panels in research conceptualization, data spatialization, and analysis.
Dr. Verma received his doctorate in synthetic chemistry in
1978. He has headed M/s Smith Kline Beechem Pharmaceuticals’
Chemical Process Technology Group, and has been the head of
Quality Control for M/s Vam Organic Chemicals Ltd. and its
General Manager (R&D). He has been instrumental in
developing several commercial processes, e.g.,
cyanoacrylate, anaerobic, hot-melt, and polyurethane
adhesives; emulsion polymers for textiles, paints and
packaging, etc. He has an experience of over twenty-seven
years with Indian industry
